Cocopress is a cocopeat substrate obtainable in blocks and slabs for almost all cut flowers and vegetables. It is a natural substrate, which is used in many countries around the world with excellent growing results for quite a number of years already. Cocopress is an environmental friendly product, no waste afterwards and moreover very economically priced.
Cocopeat, is selected coir dust. Coconuts are released from the coconut milk and the coconut shell is cut in pieces. Various fibers from the shell can be selected. The selected materials are washed and cleaned until the product reaches the desired qualifications. The material selected for growing purposes is called cocopeat.

Cocopress is more and more used because of its great advantages. Cocopeat is shipped compressed. For use, you must add water to the slab/block and it will expand to about 5 times its original volume. Because of these characteristic, shipping costs are low.
- Growing characteristics
High air content 25 – 30 %, can be treated in various ways: a lot of water at once or very frequently a little water, very forgiven regarding watering mistakes, wets up very easily, can dry out and then easily rewet again.
- Product characteristics
Natural substrate, high air content, free of diseases, no soil, rich in essential trace elements, can be used many years without losing its structure, EC level is very low: less than 0,60.
- Life span
Cocopress can be used for many years. How many years, depends on the crop. Vegetables can be grown 3 years in the same cocopeat. Roses can grow 5 years in the same cocopeat. Orchids grow even longer in the same cocopeat.
Because it is a natural substrate, there is no waste. You can use Cocopress afterwards as compost material outside in the field.

Blocks compressed e.g. 30 x 30 x 15 cm -> 13 liters, expanded -> 65 liters. Slabs compressed e.g. 100 x 15 x 2 cm, expanded 100 x 15 x 8 cm or 100 x 15 x 3,5 cm, expanded 100 x 15 x 14 cm. Many more sizes are available.
